Our school recently completed a strategic planning process that serves as a road map to ongoing success. The Bayard Public School district is located in the scenic Panhandle of Western Nebraska. Our community is the home of the famous landmark along the Oregon Trail, Chimney Rock. This famous landmark rises in front of the string of hills stretching across the valley known as the Wildcat Hills. This landmark is the symbol of our state and is featured on the Nebraska quarter.

Bayard, Nebraska, also known as Hometown, USA, offers an abundance of opportunities for those interested in the outdoors. Western Nebraska is world-renowned for its hunting and fishing. The region has hundreds of acres of public land for hiking, hunting, and camping, Area lakes and streams provide opportunities a variety of water sports and fishing. Our community also features a 9-hole golf course that is beautifully maintained and includes a clubhouse for dining. The City of Bayard is host to multiple events throughout the year that draws people into the town.
