TigerCare Program

Drawing by Leah Coomes

 . The TigerCare Program

Living in a small community, we know we have to work together and rely on others to be successful but sometimes those resources are scarce. When times are hard, parents and families are not always able to provide their children with everything they need. TigerCARE is a program that assists families by providing school supplies, clothing, shoes, toiletries, and much more. We can even help families with items necessary for everyday life at home.

How It Works

TigerCARE (Community Action Reaching Education) is very simple. Teachers or parents recognize the needs of a student and contact our Family Liaison to get help. These specific needs, such as winter coats or tennis shoes, will be posted on our Facebook site as well as our website. When someone wants to donate an item, they simply comment or message on Facebook that they would like to donate that item, or send an email through our website. Then they simply drop it off at the elementary school. From there, it will be distributed to the student(s) in need. This is a completely confidential program, no student names are ever given out.

To request help:

  • Contact our Elementary Principal, Candace Ehler. She can gather your information based on what you need or assist with finding resources for you to reach out to.
  • Talk with your student’s teacher about items your child may need.

To support our program:

  • Donate items/funding through your business. Also, feel free to post our information page in your business to help us spread the word about TigerCARE.
  • Donate items/funding personally.
