FFA Members Compete At State Land Judging
On Tuesday October 22nd, nine FFA members traveled to Lincoln with Advisor Mr. Justin Rafferty. Four students were competing together because they qualified as a team at the District level. The remaining five were competing at the individual level. Wednesday morning they traveled 45 minutes out of Lincoln to Tecumseh. After judging all four pits, the students ate lunch while waiting for results. The team came in ninth place overall with 801 points, earning them a white ribbon. Kodie Harimon led the team with 277 points, gaining a blue ribbon in 33rd place. Not far behind was Traeton Harimon with 267 points and 49th place for a white ribbon. Garrett Hopkins was the third place member on Bayard’s team with 257 points, also earning a white ribbon and 62nd place. Laura Albro rounded out the team score with 230 points, earning her 110th place and a pink ribbon. Candace Wolfe got 299 points for 14th place with a purple ribbon, giving her Bayard’s highest individual score. In 18th was Kolton Kriha getting a blue ribbon with 290 points. Leah Albro came in 89th with 241 points, getting a pink ribbon. In 138th was Cambree Schmaltz with 211 points. Hunter Geisler gained 204 points for 142nd place.
