Bayard Jr./Sr. High School Holds Career Day

Bayard Jr./Sr. High School students had the opportunity to learn from a variety of service, agriculture, business, and industry professionals during the final day of the first semester.

Career Day, which is organized by school counselor Linde Rafferty, provides an opportunity for students to learn about and explore a wide variety of careers.

Students began the day with an opening message from State Senator Steve Erdman.  Senator Erdman encouraged students to take ownership of their education.  Additional insights shared by the senator included calculating the costs and benefits of college, the importance of volunteering to small rural communities, and the need to be involved and informed voters.  Senator Erman encouraged students to pursue their dreams, saying, "Follow your dreams.  In America, dreams do come true."

Approximately 50 professionals from a wide variety of vocations shared career experience and advice with students. The contributions of all of the service, agriculture, business, and industry presenters are highly appreciated.

Thank you to all of the presenters for impacting our students' futures by sharing your insights, experience, and expertise!
