Elementary: First Grade

First Grade - Mrs. Gregory

October 15, 2008

Last week our class read the story Leaves by David Ezra Stein.  We then made our own book about our favorite Fall colors of leaves.

We are learning about several things this week.  Our Reading skills will be focusing on the short / l / sound.  In Math we are learning how to make and read graphs.  In Social Studies we are leaning about how people in other lands are a lot like us!

October will be full of many activities including Columbus Day, Fire Prevention, and Halloween.  I’m sure if you asked the 1st graders, they would tell you they are most excited for Halloween!

Stop by our large bulletin board in the hallway and you’ll see our Jumbled Pumpkins.  Both first grade classrooms contributed to this display.
